PROJECT C.A.D.D.E.T.

Communication, Attraction, and Detection Device for Extra Terrestrials

Summer is here and it is time to get outdoors, sit under the stars, and relax with your friends next to what other than the world's only officially designed, and crafted UFO attractor. There is nothing else like this in the world! This machine has gained publicity from Duluth, MN where it made its debut to foreign countries such as Russia and France. I have had my fun with this machine and am ready to pass it along to the next person who wants it bad enough and is willing to continue its legacy and experimentation. To whoever you will be at this auction's close, get ready for an adventure and happy bidding! See below or visit the website at www.dantedifranco.com/ufoattractor.htm for more information:

Additionally, a portion of these proceedes will be going to help the Lisa Merlin House, a grass roots, non-profit organization started by Lisa Merlin and her colleagues in 1992 to provide a transitional living program for females ages sixteen (16) and older recovering from the diseases of alcoholism and substance abuse.

What is it? How does it work?

Project C.A.D.D.E.T. works upon 3 main principles: Communication, Attraction, and Detection. After analyzing various data from different sightings, abductions, and UFO experiences, I attempted to decipher a few common strands to the stories. After extracting this information, I looked into some physics books, spoke to a few scientists and physicists, and most importantly, let my imagination roll. After all, some of the world's greatest discoveries were found because someone imagined something possible.

I will go through each of the machine's properties and explain the elements used to produce the desired results:

Attraction

First, the machine has 3 industrial sized light cans mounted onto the steel frame. These "pods" contain 3 blue high-powered strobe lights that create a visual stimulus from above. The lights are arranged in the pattern of a triangle, as often times there are triangular shapes associated both with the crafts sighted as well as the landscapes that they are spotted over. Then, I mounted 3 helium-neon lasers in a triangular form shining upward into a 5-inch crystal from India. There is a theory regarding the creation of a forced energy field between the interaction of a crystal and laser technology, and this is what we are attempting to accomplish. Another aspect of attraction, lays within a piece of Buddah Labradorite I received from Brazil. This stone has been often associated as a common element in the ground where many sightings have occured. The beautiful stone remains suspended from a pendulum at the back of the machine. Lastly, a transmitter sends a radio signal into space of a looping sequence similar to that of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The signal is left to repeat uninterrupted, while being monitored on a nearby radio.

Communication

Atop of the machine's dashboard is a mounted Keyboard. This keyboard is used to establish the desired signal that will be transmitted, as it sits and waits to be used as a responsive device to a signal that should variate. Since we cannot assume that alien's would know English, Chinese, or any other man made verbal language, the safest thing that we can use to communicate with is music. It is undoubtedly a universal language. Should this signal change, show any variation, or have an interception from another source, the keyboard allows us to communicate back to the disrupted signal.

Detection

Among some of the most frequently reported environmental changes that take place during a UFO sighting are: changes in the electromagnetic fields, residual radiation deposits, time changes, loss of memory, and temperature changes. To verify what we may visually encounter, I have added devices to the machine set to detect many of these environmental changes. Mounted to the dashboard is a digital electromagnetic frequency detector, a Geiger Counter that is used to detect amounts of radiation in an area, a digital thermometer to detect changes in temperature, a digital clock that is synchronized with everyone's analog  watches to avoid time discrepancies, and a digital video camera that is set up to record what one might encounter as visual evidence.

These are the basics of the machine! They are what make it tick! Just to see it running at night is alone a beautiful sight. The blue lights flashing high into the sky and the clear crystal illuminated with red beams of the refracted laser. It is definitely something that should be seen.

How big is it?

The machine is about 5 feet wide, 7 feet long, and 6 feet tall. It weighs about 300 pounds.

Have I seen anything yet?

Well, there are always more things noticed when you stare up at the stars all night waiting. I've seen more shooting stars and meteors in the sky since the creation of this machine than I have ever seen in my whole life. Maybe these "shooting stars" are more than meet the eye though. Furthermore, 45 minutes after the story first aired on the 10PM news, 8 different F-16 fighter jets came out and began circling the house in the country where the machine was making its debut. Was the military interested? Were they trying to scramble away something that we had attracted? I suppose we will never know.

The thing is that with something like this, there is a lot of waiting that should be expected. Just as if you are fishing and you are using some type of good bait, your still going to have to wait until the fish decide to bite the hook. There might be hundreds of fish just below the surface staring up at you and laughing, but eventually there will be that one that ends up in the deep fryer. That's the same principle here. In a sense, I am going "fishing" for intelligent life in the universe. Will I ever get a response? I sure hope so, but only time will tell. As of now, the machine has been put away into storage, as I don't have any of my own property  where it could be set up and let continuously run. Consequently, the machine has only been run for 3 nights since its creation. Hopefully in its future, it will have more stories to tell.

The Media's Coverage

"I would definitely buy this thing, if given a chance. But instead of using it to attract UFOs, I'd use it to drive my neighbors crazy. Whenever they play their music too loud, I'd crank up my UFO Attractor and drown them out. If a UFO happened to land in their backyard as a consequence, all the better."- Anomalist

"The optimism Julie "Jitterbug" Pearce exuded Friday when talking about the likelihood her unlikely contraption can detect extraterrestrial life was undeniable."- Nick Kotzea- Duluth News Tribune

"Julie "Jitterbug" Pearce wants to make a long-distance call -- very long distance. Pearce has built what she calls a UFO Attractor. The gizmo has colored strobe lights, low-powered lasers and a radio transmitter. She hopes she can grab the attention of any passing saucers and persuade ET to land for a chat."- Associated Press

Since its debut, several articles and documentaries have been made on the machine and its inventor including some of the following sources from below:

When I initially invited some local press to participate in the unveiling of Project C.A.D.D.E.T., I was only expecting a good time around a campfire under the stars. However, before I knew it, the story had made the 10 o'clock news and made the front page of the Duluth News Tribune the following morning. Next thing I knew, I had people e-mailing me from all across the state. Shortly thereafter, I began getting e-mails from across the country, and most recently, the story as spread International. It blows my mind how people's interest in such a bizarre invention has just "taken off"! However, is very exciting because not only has it spurred many interesting conversations about life beyond earth, I believe that it has challenged people's thinking. Whether or not this, as some people have been calling it, "UfO Attractor", actually brings extraterrestrial life to earth, I feel like it has already been a huge success.

The Inventor

Julie Pearce, known by most as Jitterbug, is the creator of this UFO Attractor named Project C.A.D.D.E.T. She was born and raised in Central Florida on October 1st, 1980. Later, she moved to Duluth, MN where she continued her education.

She started school at Fond Du Lac Tribal College in Northern Minnesota and decided to follow through with her childhood dream of becoming a doctor. She currently holds an Associates of Art degree and a degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling. Currently, she is working on her third degree from at the University of Minnesota, Duluth.

While going to school, she runs her own business known as Jitterbug Productions and works at a group home with developmentally disabled adults. In the meantime, she keeps life interesting by skydiving, boxing, doing karate, snowboarding, skiing, urban exploration, rock climbing, kayaking, kiteboarding, riding her motorcycle, traveling, and coaching an ice hockey team.

She has a love for the extreme. Whether that involves a physical activity or a mental task, she thrives on the challenge and the adrenaline that pumps through her veins.

She has played the piano for 12 years of her life and composes her own music. She also plays the guitar, the trumpet, and mixes vinyl on a pair of turntables. She enjoys doing black and white photography, doing body piercings, and doing paranormal research and investigation.

There are many words one could use to describe this creative and unique girl, but the one word that describes her best is free spirit. She goes through life at a beat of her own and makes every moment worth it.

Who is Mike Muckerheide?

While Jitterbug is the actual inventor and curator of Project C.A.D.D.E.T.,  she saw the completion of Mike Muckerheide's vision after his death. Before he died, he had begun working on the UFO Attractor. His intention was to create a machine that would attract UFOs and that he would be able to capture his findings on film. Unfortunately, constructing a frame was all that Mike had the time in his life to do before his death. As to what his original ideas were for the completion of the machine may have died with him. It was shortly after his death that Pearce discovered someone else had been working on a similar contraption. After his death, Pearce was able to contact Mike's son and purchase the frame that would later on become the basis for integrating her own theories and ideas. Rather than just build a machine that could potentially attract UFOs, Pearce decided to expand upon her ideas and integrate Detection and Communication aspects as well. Hence, Project C.A.D.D.E.T. was born!

As for Mike, he lived an exciting life. He was a pioneer in laser technology, who worked building laser systems for both the Government and NASA. He was also responsible for both SEM and GAS payload experiments through NASA. Muckerheide was a brilliant man. Some of his work is even exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution and Mitchell Field Museum. He also holds seven U.S. patents. Sadly enough, he died of cancer on December 22nd, 2003 at the age of 73. He made his years on Earth well worth it though.

Local Woman Inspired by Midwestern Scientist Finishes the Production of the World's First Device Set to Potentially Attract, Detect, and Communicate with Possible Extraterrestrial Life.

Duluth, MN -- August 30, 2004 -- We hear about random sightings of what people call UFOs coming from the mouths of people all around the world. Some people even go so far to say that they have been abducted by these beings and have been used in various experiments, only to be returned scarred and traumatized. Is there really life beyond earth? This is still one of the greatest mysteries of our modern day world. The very thought of our human race not being the most superior or advanced beings within the universe is enough to make people shutter in disbelief, angry out of fear, cling tightly to deep spiritual beliefs, or become curious to discover more. One of these curious minds springs out of Duluth, MN. This young entrepreneur, Julie Pearce, owner and director or Jitterbug Productions has researched and developed her own methodology that she plans on using to either validate or disprove the existence of life beyond earth. She has integrated those ideas into the production of a device that in theory, will attract, detect, and communicate with these other life forms, should they exist.

The idea for the device began as a sort of imaginative addition to an event that was being planned in the Minnesota wilderness. What started as a non-functional prop to a camping event, turned quickly into something larger than even Pearce would have expected. In her research, she discovered a midwestern scientist, Myron "Mike" Muckerheide, who had dedicated himself to the creation of what he referred to as the "UFO Attractor". Muckerheide also spent much of his life developing LASER systems for the government and medical fields, as well as working closely with NASA at their headquarters in Cape Canaveral, FL. Some of his work is even on display within the Smithsonian Institute of Science in Washington, DC. Unfortunately, he died in his hometown of Port Washington, WI before he was able to complete this most recent project. However, Pearce was eager to both continue his work while integrating her own ideas into its completion.

Pearce has since taken Muckerheide's original idea of attracting extraterrestrial life through the use of flashing lights, and expanded the device to use more elaborate means of attraction. She has also made the device capable of not only potentially attracting extraterrestrial life, but also detecting the presence of other life forms in a measurable capacity, and establishing simple communication potentials.

The device uses three high-powered strobe lights arranged in a triangular formation, 3 helium-neon lasers shining into a large 5-inch crystal, a special element known as Labradorite, and a repeating digital signal transmitted into space to employ its attraction potential. In order to detect and measure whether or not any noticeable differences in the environment have occurred, the device uses a radiation Gauss meter, a temperature gauge, a compass, a digital clock, and an electromagnetic frequency detector. There will also be constant digital video surveillance of the sky. Furthermore, if there are noticeable changes in the environment that would indicate the presence of extraterrestrial life and that presence is able to change the frequency of the digital transmission, a keyboard will be used to respond in a simplified form of communication.

Pearce is not thoroughly convinced that life beyond this Earth does exist, but she is determined that if there is, she will find a way to prove it. However, even in the most measurable and credible of data, we will always still have our doubts as to whether or not we are really alone.
